Description
On a recent crisp English winter's evening I was walking along the south bank of the Thames in central London (on my way to a pub, oddly enough), and I thought this would make a nice shot.
The dome you see is that of St. Paul's Cathedral.
As I pass it (as I have done on many occasions), it never ceases to amaze me quite how old it is. It was constructed in 1673 (it's like... er... even older than #dAPensioners on dAmn!)
God must've been smiling down on it during the Blitz because I don't think it took a scrap of damage.
This is one of the reasons why I love London so much, you can smell the history in the air (although that may have been the odour of the piss-soaked tramp slumped beside me).
Anyway, my photography doesn't do justice to that view and that atmosphere.
